Underground Photographer is a new quarterly publication devoted to still photography and video of caves and mines. With a broad mix of articles and photos, it is intended to appeal to beginners and experienced photographers.
Technical and artistic aspects of this demanding subject are covered in depth, with a particular emphasis on relevant lighting techniques. Contributors of photos and articles include professional photographers and writers of international repute, together with material by cave enthusiasts who have recorded the exciting visual imagery of a typical potholing trip.
Photo reproduction technology is a secondary theme of the publication. The magazine itself is richly illustrated. The monochrome photos are carefully reproduced by a laser process onto a high-quality paper, and the magazine is bound into a colour cover produced on a digital litho press.
The magazine is a specialist short-run publication, privately published by caving and photographic enthusiasts Kym Price & Paul Peppiatt. It is available from specialist caving-gear shops, and by direct subscription from: Dhios Designs, 40 Buckingham Road, Petersfield GU32 3AZ, Hants UK
Cost is uk£5-00 for a single issue, or uk£18-00 for four issues including UK postage. Overseas rates on request.
